A Seneca, South Carolina home owner was surprised Saturday afternoon by a lightning strike which hit his home. Unfortunately, the lightning appears to have attached to the power meter next to his parked Toyota. The strike created an explosion underneath the car which flipped the car onto its roof. This terrific video from the UK shows a wind turbine triggering a lightning strike during a snow storm. Snow storms can create a significant amount of charge in the storm clouds. All that is needed to trigger lightning is a tall object.
